Hi! My name is Tricia. I'm a wife, a mom, and a teacher. My boys will soon be 13, 11, and 11. They are getting older, but they are still so much fun! I have taught Kindergarten for eight years, 4th grade for three years, 2nd grade for five years, and high school Spanish for one year. I have been a Christ-follower since the age of four, and have been taught by God in so many ways.
This blog started at the suggestion of my friend, Sarah. She and I had been discussing ways to share what God is teaching us. I have journaled since I was in 7th grade, and it seemed time to start allowing others to get a few glimpses of the truth God has shown. Already familiar with Weebly blogs, I created one and entitled it "Teaching in Faith." My initial goal was to share what God had taught me so that I could effectively teach my students. In a very small way, my first post from May 2014 reflects this.
After a few months without writing any posts, I felt like God was putting it on my heart to share Advent readings with a larger group of people. I put them on this blog and them shared them on Facebook. Doing the daily Advent Readings in the weeks leading up to Christmas really enables me to focus my heart and mind on the true meaning of Christmas.
After two years of this, I began feeling compelled to share other things that God has taught me. I started to look through recent journals and mark certain entries that I wanted to share. My first post from February 2016 came from an earlier journal entry. And as life took its course, I really desired to share things from my own personal journey...in real time. Enter the other posts throughout February and March 2016 and beyond. I love when God opens my eyes to a spiritual lesson in the middle of an ordinary circumstance. These are what I enjoy sharing the most.
So...who reads these blog posts? I only know of a handful of people. But I love reading comments because I know that means God is speaking to people through what I write. And that's all I really want. It's not about me; it's all about Him. So if something I say resonates with you, please let me know...and feel free to share my blog with your own friends and family.
May you be continually amazed by the Lord and may He speak to you through what He has shown me!
